When we lose God, it is not God who is lost.

Just a thought to all my friends and family I love… When we lose God, it is not God who is lost.

As a child of about 4-5 year old, I went with my mum to the indoor market in Hereford City Centre. Mum and I walked over to the wool stall and while there, I looked over behind me and I saw heaven, the toy stall. I walked over and marveled at all the toy cars (matchbox). I called over to my mum and found that she was not there. She has moved on and I was lost. I ran out onto the street in desperation to find my mum. But I could not see her and began to cry. There were lots of big people looking down at me and being deaf, I couldn’t understand what they were saying, which made my crying even worse. They were strangers and I was frightened and of course, I didn’t know my way home. I was lost.

What seems a long time, suddenly my mum showed up and immediately picked me up into her loving arms and gave me the biggest hug ever. When she realized that I was not with her, she went in search for me. She also was panicking and the look on her face when she found me was a picture of someone who loves me and she was relieved. I too felt so relieved because I was found by someone I loved and trusted, my mum! I felt safe again. Besides all that, she knew the way home where all my toys were. No really, she knew the way home and I was safe again because my mum was with me.

In this world, we are lost, trying to find our way in life. Let’s be honest about it. This world is a strange place, like a faraway country; some things we are not familiar with, trying to find our way home in life. Until God showed up at some point in our lives, mainly through His people, and sometimes supernaturally, not once but several times. He points to us the way home as He is the way home, Jesus Christ the Son of God, John 14:6. God is never lost. We are lost without God, often by our own choice, and we will never find home without Him. He loves you so much, John 3:16-17. Why not call on Jesus Christ and after all, He came to seek and save the lost. In Jesus Christ, I am found and in Him, I know the way home. Why don’t you do the same? You will not regret it.
